For the need of safety, and the reality of skiing in remote locations a brief description is applied to your considerations. Use it as you wish.

In an avalanche the primary development is being buried in an unmovable state. Therefore the fundamental need is an "air bag" to use to gain the necessary room to allow for movement in the snow by someone buried. Further the use of an air bag will keep the skier from being buried in the first place and provide some protection from all the possible obstructions to be hit by the body. Simply put, you need a "Rubber boat" with suitable inflation device/ built into a ski jacket/ to be deployed after a distinct pressure is applied to suitable triggers. A helmet would also be wise. It need not look to obtrusive.
